In 1905, the Bosch Brewing Company opened the Hotel Michigan on the corner of 6th & Oak Streets in downtown Calumet. This structure housed 26 hotel rooms on the second & third floors and offered a Cafe, Pub with its Men's Smoking Room and the hotel lobby on the street level. Over the years, the second and third floors were converted to apartments for less transient patrons. The Corner Walk-Up & The Angler Suite are two of these apartments, providing overnight lodging in the heart of the Historic Downtown Business District.
The "Corner Walk-Up" overlooks the bustling 6th & Oak Street intersection. It is well appointed with a cheery kitchen, a main room with a full-size bed, and a private bath with a large claw-foot tub. It is well suited for the single traveler or a friendly couple and has ample room for rollaways if requested. Well-mannered pets are welcome.
The "Angler Suite" is completed in a vintage fishing theme and has a separate bedroom with full-size bed, a living room with a twin daybed, a complete kitchen and a private bath with shower. This suite would very comfortably accommodate 4 travelers. Children and well-mannered pets are very welcome.
The Michigan House Cafe & Brew Pub on the first floor offers a full menu from 11:30 am until the kitchen closes at 10 pm (closed Wednesdays). Located two blocks from the snowmobile trails and two blocks from the Swedetown cross country ski trails. Ask us about snowmobile and fishing guides. There is ample parking, adjoining warehouse space for snowmobile or bike storage and wireless internet access in both suites.Available year round.Phone: 906-337-1910 Email: mhouse@pasty.com
